Being strong and while dealing with NF can be a difficult thing. I believe that everyone comes to the table with a different perspective. What seems like a small problem to me, may seem like an impossible task to someone else. What if you woke up tomorrow and no longer had NF? What if all the tumors were gone, the pain was gone, everything? What kind of person would you become? Would you still be shy? Would you then feel that you could finally live your life? If you became one of the “beautiful” people would you look down on everyone or would you dare to stand out? People who suddenly change their looks, weight loss, or plastic sugery, etc, sometimes forget where they have been. Your looks are not the measure of who you are.

Are you willing to change your life now? Rage against all that has held you back. Refuse to let the trials of life bring you down. I know that you have heard that life is full of opportunities. You have things to teach other people. You have a lot to learn. Open your heart and your mind to the possibilities.

If life hands you cow pies, make a brick, throw it through the window and breakout.

I am not a quitter.

Living with NF is sometimes a challenge. Everyone faces or must face a challenge or two sooner or later in life. I am a huge optimist, yet even I find myself weighted down at times. What are we to do to reverse those feelings and lift us up from despair? As I lay in bed at night, I often drift off to sleep, trying to think of solutions to help myself as well as others get over the day to day humps. Does the answer lie in medication? Can we find the end of our rainbow through soul searching, mental therapy or at the bottom of a bottle of pills?  It is hard to decide which direction to take. Giving up will not solve anything. You can roll over and cover your head with a blanket until everyone and everything you hold dear, give up or go away. Is that the life you envisioned for yourself?
Until next time I wish you,
Love, Peace and Understanding
